Meet the Montenegrin Mountain Hound
BRIEF HISTORY: It is safe to say that this dog originates from the same area as the other Balkan hounds. In the past, this breed was sometimes referred to as the “black hound.” The first standard dates back to 1924. The FCI officially recognized this breed (standard no. 279) on May 8, 1969, at a meeting in Warsaw.
